Supination Orthotics Over The Counter

The current health status of different parts of Longwood House

In 2008, Mr. Michael Jantzen - Chief Architect of Historical Monuments Honorary came on a mission on the island and we prepared a report with plans, the location of buildings at Longwood that allows us to quote:

1. Apartment of the Emperor

All rooms underwent a drastic restoration in the early 50's, documents and photos that demonstrate the work done partially show a true reconstruction. This major operation was conducted with extreme care, walls partly rebuilt, rebuilt structures rationally in Iroko wood, floors, windows, woodwork redone alike. This set has found its interiors and some of its original furniture.

The only reservation concerns the coverage achieved by artificial slate of two colors. It is generally in good condition but has some weakness in particular the right of the valley of the North-West and skylight frames.

There are also traces of moisture in the east wall of the room Billiards [1] .

2. Local service :

This presents a rather heterogeneous assemblage of small buildings and massive, the whole is not in bad condition, but the covers are quite poor: asbestos cement corrugated schedules located around the court felt shingles asphalt (shingles) for the rest. The slopes are extremely weak where a necessary reflection on all these roofs.

3. The said housing generals [2] :

This third part is the most worrying, briefly inspired by the presumed historical state known only by an iconography uncertain. It was originally built in wood and demolished in 1859 by Captain Engineer Masselin. Some parts had to be masonry or adobe as evidenced by the statements and documents and testimony Masselin Las Cases in the Memorial.

Rebuilt in 1933-34, apparently without concern for complete Pageant, a new amendment was made in 1950 by modifying a portion of the openings of the west facade. These buildings consist of a frame of metal poles beams and trusses of small section, the vertical posts, lintels and pits are coated in a cinder block masonry coated. Depending on the orientation, thickness of concrete coating is too low to prevent internal corrosion.

The South facade is exposed to prevailing winds is most concerned. To limit the damage, Michel Martineau was taken to be shuttered outside a particular post and altered to build in the retreating angle facing south-east, a canopy that protects this part.

polls conducted on the metal parts show an advanced state of decomposition.

The state of framing is good, but there are many leaks in the roof.

There is a design principle of the attic that do not correspond to the shape of buildings, which led to two horizontal trough gutters with a provision encouraging the infiltration of blankets, in state current facade Southeast, corrosion of metal parts is a concern.

It would be excessive to speak of risk of immediate collapse, but cracks are occasionally visible and internal corrosion coatings grows.

The weight of timber and cover is quite low, given the state of poles built, we can consider that the charges are mainly taken up by the cinderblock walls of small thickness and which are in structural design that filling.

We are witnessing a construction similar to that a temporary building that would have lasted. The internal metal structure is altered. For the most exposed facades, the ensemble maintains the cohesion of the filler materials. [3] . "
